Course or conference with a different travel route?
Take the boat to Sogn. Enjoy the Sognefjord along the way and stay at the historic Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand.
- The Sognefjord is a delightful boat trip full of contrasts. Most of the landscape is unchanged since the Vikings set sail here, and for much of the year you'll see white mountain peaks on the horizon. The stops along the way give you a taste of cozy rural communities," says Bjørn Egil Søndenå, regional manager for fast boats at Norled.
The trip from Bergen to Sogn takes just under four hours. On board the boat, you can either work, relax or socialize. Why not plan your next company gathering in Balestrand? With the speedboat you will experience a different way of traveling.
Statue of King Olav V
As you pass Skjerjehamn at the far end of the Sognefjord, you can see the much talked about statue of King Olav V, which was unveiled in 2007. As you cross the Sognefjord, you will look straight towards Lihesten, a characteristic mountain that stands out clearly. On the way in, you will pass Brekke on the south side of the fjord, a small place where it rains more than in Bergen!
As you approach Balestrand, you will see the mountain that has been painted by the most artists in Norway, namely Vindreken. In the foreground is Kviknes Hotel, a family hotel that is part of De Historiske Hotel.
Here you can read stories that will make you gasp. Just ask Sigurd Kvikne!
Home for lunch
If they leave Bergen on the morning boat at 8 am, they will arrive in time for lunch. Then they can have a good working session after lunch, before enjoying the possibilities here in the evening, with food, drink and stories. The next day, they can work until noon, before the boat leaves for Bergen.
We have meeting rooms and conference halls that can accommodate up to 450 people.
