Folkeuniversitetet holds courses at Kviknes for one good reason

- The combination of a state-of-the-art course venue and beautiful, historic surroundings.

- This is a unique combination. The premises where you hold lectures and courses are different from where you stay when the course is finished. This combination allows you to find peace and quiet," says Reidar Brandsberg, sales manager at Folkeuniversitetet Vestlandet.

As an organization that aims to bring education to the public, they are keen to use premises that are well suited for learning. They must have good furniture, space for groups of 20 to 25 people and the technical equipment to hold good lectures.

In addition, they need a place where participants who are staying overnight can relax and find peace and quiet. And inspiration for the next day.

- Here you get both. In addition, the food is good and the hosts are very friendly and helpful. Everything is so well organized," says Brandsberg.

Surroundings with a lot of history

The hotel in Balestrand has a long history. The Kvikne family has run the hotel for four generations. They have hosted prime ministers, royalty, emperors, photographers and famous artists from all over the world. Esefjella behind the hotel is said to be the most painted mountain in Norway, with paintings hanging in both the Royal Palace and the National Gallery.

- You are surrounded by national romantic treasures. I never get tired of just walking around the hotel and looking around," says Brandsberg.

Modern facilities for courses and conferences

Folkeuniversitetet has been running courses and education at Kviknes Hotel for several years, including psychology courses of 15 and 30 credits, and studies in philosophy and management.

- "The feedback from the participants is unanimously very good. Having courses and education in such historical surroundings is something completely unique. The new conference facilities are very good and we feel that the staff care. They are there for us when we need them. In short, we are very satisfied with Kviknes Hotel," says Brandsberg.

Participants can come to Balestrand by speedboat, bus or car and will be well looked after. In addition, they have the beautiful nature of the Sognefjord right on their doorstep. Kviknes Hotel offers rooms suitable for small meetings to larger conferences of up to 450 people.

Kviken Hall was built in 2007 and contains the latest technical equipment. Together with a history dating back to 1877, local food, a rich wine cellar and a wide range of course activities, there are many reasons to hold your next conference at Kviknes Hotel.
